Welcome to My Imagination Photography. This blog is dedicated to the Black community and also to Black photographers. Photography is not only about capturing memories, but also about capturing history. In the Black community, our history is being erased in one form or another. There are so many things out there for us to discover and to do, and photography helps to capture every moment.
At My Imagination Photography, myself the founder (Stephanie Cooper) decided that I needed to do something for my community and in a way that would not only benefit it going forward, but would encourage others to teach them going forward as well. I originally used My Imagination Photography for my own photography brand, but ultimately decided to rebrand it into something more. In these blogs, you will get to have the knowledge hat I learned many years ago in photography school and also learn things that I have learned since photography school. I’m a seasoned professional with over 25 years in the game. Here you will not only get an education, but also inspiration to go forward with your photography and inspire others.
I have designed an app called “The Studio”. It’s available on the App Store and on Google Play. Here you will find a posing app and as well as photography lessons that will help you to learn to improve or begin your photography skills. Each lesson gives precise instructions and tells you what equipment that you will need. The lessons are self paced so you can do them on your schedule.
The Studio app also allows you to contribute your best work to be featured in the app. Photographers are encouraged to submit their work either in the app or via email. All photographer’s whose work is shown in the app are credited. This also allows the photographer to get free marketing and exposure for their own brands.
